Williams County Department of Aging Announces Upcoming Events

Join us Tuesday, May 9th for Edon’s Evening of Fun. Enjoy bingo, burgers, and friends. You could also make a quick stop at Edon Dairy Treat for some ice cream before heading home. Also in May, we are celebrating those who are 90 years young on the 19th at our annual 90+ luncheon at the Montpelier Moose. The Light-Shine Singers from Bryan High School will be performing at 11:30 and then lunch will be served. Call our main office at 419-633-4317 to make reservations. Grab your baseball hats and join us Wednesday, June 28th for a fun trip to a Toldeo Mudhens game. Tickets go on sale on Monday, May 1st. We will be closed Monday May 29th for Memorial Day to honor our Veterans who have served to protect the freedoms we enjoy today.

On Monday, May 1st, Craig Hand will be coming to our center at 11:00 to discuss hearing since May is better hearing month. If you have a picture of your mom that you would like to have in our display case, bring it in on May 1st. You can also bring in a picture of your father on June 1st to have it displayed as well. June 14th is Flag Day. To honor this holiday, we will have men from the American Legion here to lead us to Appreciate the American Flag. Thank you to everyone for all the work they do around the Senior Center. We appreciate it very much!

Join the Bryan Senior Center on Wednesday, May 3rd for open mic night. Activities begin at 4:00 with sandwiches and pop. To celebrate Mother’s Day, all women will go first to lunch on Friday, May 12th at Bryan Senior Center. Likewise, on Friday, June 16th all men will go first to celebrate Father’s Day. Come in to Bryan Senior Center at 11:00 on June 28th to enjoy some old fashioned candy.

Enjoy shopping in Bryan with the Edgerton Senior Center on Thursday, May 4th at 1:30. Join Edgerton Senior Center on Wednesday, May 24th at 12:30 for a movie with Northern Lakes. Get some delicious ice cream at the Bulldog with Edgerton Senior Center on Thursday, May 25th at 1:30. There will also be ice cream on Thursday, June 22nd at 1:30 at the Edon Dairy Treat.

The Edon Senior Center would like to thank all the Veterans and Soldiers in honor of Memorial Day. Join the Edon Senior Center on Tuesday, May 23rd at 12:00 for Maumee Valley Healthy Ideas. On Tuesday, June 20th, Edon Senior Center will have dinner out at Rodgers. We will leave the center at 4:00.

Get your hearing tested Friday, May 19th at 10:00 at the Montpelier Senior Center. Stop by from May 15th to May 19th and say hi to the nursing home patients in honor of National Nursing Home Week. Join us on June 16th at 10:15 for NWO Hearing Aid Center’s seminar on cleaning and repairing hearing aids as well as a hearing test.

The Pioneer Senior Center would like to thank everyone in advance for help with discarding the extra food. We ask that everyone call and make reservations for lunch. If you are unable to attend please let us know. The Pioneer Senior Center will be going to Shipshewanna on June 6th. The bus leaves at 8:00 and will be arriving back to the center at approximately 5:00. Please call if you are interested.

The Stryker Senior Center will be having AmeriCare TeleHealth on May 2nd and June 6th at 11:00. Fourth graders will be visiting the Senior Center at 12:15 on May 9th. PB Clinic with CHP will be at the Stryker Senior Center at 12:00 on May 16th and June 20th.

The West Unity Senior Center will be visiting Stryker for lunch at 11:00 on May 2nd and Montpelier on June 23rd at 11:00. There will be a hearing presentation as well as cleaning on May 11th at the West Unity Senior Center. Blood Pressure checks will be available on June 1st at the West Unity Senior Center at 10:30.
