Village Clerk Sue Clendenin informed Metamora Village Council at the January 20, 2021 meeting, that a letter had been received from Toledo Edison.

They want residents to know that on January 26, 2021 there will be helicopters flying low over the area to check all the lines. Council mentioned that it is good to know, but that they will probably get a lot of calls from concerned citizens anyway.

During the meeting, Council voted to approve:

– Minutes of previous meeting and payment of bills

•Increase in Salary for Deputy Clerk Elizabeth Ryan following her 90 day employee review. Her hourly rate went from $14 to $15, retroactive to January 14, 2021, which was the end of her review period

•Dynagy as the village’s Electric Aggregation with a four year agreement at .049 cents per kilowatt hour

•Hiring Marleau Hercules for the amount of $3870 to take care of the Park Fence that is in disrepair.

•Minutes of Water Advisory meeting which was held on January 14, 2021

•Transfer of $39.00 from Coronavirus Equipment to Contractual Services

•Ordinance #1046 amending Ordinance #870 increasing snow plow wages to $16 per hour

•Fiscal report given by Clendenen, by emergency ordinance

•Recommendation from John Pupos that the village consider including times and days allowed for soliciting in the village. Council voted to set the times at 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday through Saturday with none allowed on Sundays

•Recommendation to hire Marleau Hercules at the cost of $3870 to take care of the Park Fence that is in disrepair

The largest portion of the meeting was spent hearing a report from Councilman John Pupos on the Lands and Buildings Committee meeting. Pupos gave the following info in his report:

•A maintenance update with some specifics

•The solar bees maintenance contract is extended through April 2022. Maintenance was not done in 2020 due to covid, but it was done on January 11, with no report yet

•Recommendation to sign an Electric Aggregation agreement with Dynagy, which they did

•Free fill dirt and free labor have been offered to fill in the old clear well. Council accepted it.

•Watershed Project was not approved for funding.

The meeting ended with council approving a Proclamation made by Mayor Richard Sauerlander at the request of Four County Career Center, designating February as Career Technical Education Month.
