The Metamora Village Council met for its regular session on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance before council approved minutes from the November third meeting.
The mayor’s report included a review of the October sheriff’s report, along with notice of a town hall hosted by Jerry Anderson at the Anthony Wayne High School regarding data centers.
Council members were encouraged to attend or watch the livestream. The mayor also noted that TMACOG representatives visited the village office to discuss available grant options.
Discussion then began regarding the possible hiring of a new village administrator, including job duties, hours and pay. The topic was held for continued discussion at the end of the meeting.
Multiple ordinances then received readings, including annual sewer rate increases, the agreement with the Countywide Emergency Management Agency, and 2026 employee compensation.
Two ordinances involving solicitor and prosecutor appointments, along with medical and dental insurance costs, were passed under emergency measures.
Approval was also given for the fiscal officer and deputy clerk to attend year end UAN training in Columbus. Bills were approved as read.
During old business, it was reported that four streetlight poles are currently out and will be reported to Toledo Edison.
In zoning matters, three property owners who received nuisance violation letters have not complied, and the mayor will consult with the village attorney on next steps.
Updates were given on properties seeking variances, as well as continued safety and nuisance concerns related to 124 East Main, which will be addressed with both the property owner and health officials.
Later in the meeting, further discussion was held on the need for an administrator. A motion to place an ad for a part time administrator was approved, with one abstention. The meeting was then adjourned at 7:57 p.m.
