With a goal of at least $150,000, Edon Area Foundation members are thrilled that they have already reached $134,000.

Heidi Bidwell, who is on the Foundation Board and is the Edon Village Clerk, said in a phone interview that they are doing well, adding, “The Community has been overwhelming and we are very thankful!”

Every donation helps, from the smallest to the largest, and the foundation members hope that folks will continue to push that red line clear to the top.

Donations have come from individuals, families, corporations and local businesses. The largest donation so far was $20,000 from Thiel Construction & Supply.

“Many corporations and businesses have been extremely generous and we are grateful for their efforts to better the community, with us,” Bidwell said.

The foundation was scheduled to find out on March 9th, how much the Bryan Area Foundation is planning to donate for the project.

For anyone still wishing to participate, forms to purchase however many bricks you desire, are available at the bank, the post office and the village office.

As stated in a previous issue, all this money is going toward some extensive work to update Walz Park playground.
