On August 12, Montpelier’s downtown streets buzzed with classic engines and community spirit as the summer Cruise-In rolled into town, a beloved tradition that’s been attracting classic car enthusiasts for more than 20 years. Held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of June, July, and August, the event offers a welcoming mix of classic vehicles, music, and small-town camaraderie.

This week’s spotlight business sponsor was WesBanco, whose support helps offset the cost of the event, including entertainment from the ever popular Four of a Kind Entertainment. Montpelier’s Chamber of Commerce has taken over hosting the cruise-in each summer, led by Executive Director Kelly Herzog.

She states that community members, including Chris Kannel of Kannel Insurance, play a key role in keeping the event a success year after year.

Between 60 to 75 cars are expected at each week’s event, which gives attendees and enthusiasts the opportunity to bond and share their love of classic cars.

Each week, attendees also have the opportunity to browse local vendors, take part in three door prize giveaways, as well as try their luck in the 50/50 raffle. The Montpelier Police 4×4 Rescue team was also on hand, lending their support in keeping the event safe for all.

The final event of the season, a Super Cruise-In, will take place on Tuesday, August 26, marking the last opportunity for residents and visitors to enjoy this cherished summer tradition until next year.
