Montpelier Lady Locomotives Turn Back North Central At Home

MONTPELIER: APRIL 1, 2014: The Montpelier Lady Locomotives recorded a non-conference victory on April 1, outgunning the North Central Lady Eagles 8-1 behind a solid effort on the mound by Senior Jessy Dechene.

Duchene went the distance for the Lady Locos, giving up only five hits while allowing just one run in the game. Offensively for the Locos, Taylor Wells and Christy Duchene combined for 4 RBI’s off of singles while Sidney Houk blasted a double driving in a run. Also for Montpelier, Breanna Stein, Marinna Mercer, Jessy Duchene and Mikalyla Schilt each singled.

For the Lady Eagles in the loss, Makayla Hayes went six innings on the mound giving up six runs while allowing six hits. Alyssa Swank made an appearance as well, allowing just one hit and 2 runs. Offensively, Sabrina Pickford, Swank, Hayes, Abby Litzenberg, and Kelsie Sutton each had singles, with Sutton recording an RBI.
