Teachers taught students the importance of our veterans and military men and women.

Many of the classes at Montpelier were individually doing projects and learning about Veterans Day, and Mrs. Lee’s 2nd grade class shared what they had learned about veterans and soldiers.

“The students watched videos and worked on papers before doing their soldier crafts,” Mrs. Lee said. They learned about veterans, who they are, and what they have done for our country.

Derek Jimenez, an Army soldier stationed in Germany, has become the students’ new pen pal. As one of the projects for Veterans Day, the children wrote letters to him.

Mrs. Lee shared the importance of what the military men and women do, and have sacrificed, to help keep America free.

Creating fun with projects and letters makes learning that much easier.
