Montpelier Native Serving As Orientation Leader At Heidelberg University

Ratsamie Vongsavang of Montpelier, Ohio, is serving as an Orientation Leader at Heidelberg University this summer.

Vongsavang, a junior majoring in public relations, has joined 25 other Orientation Leaders whose job is to provide new students and their parents a welcoming and informative orientation experience. Orientation Leaders serve as resources throughout the four summer orientation sessions, answering questions, providing directions and assisting new students as they register for classes.

Orientation Leaders are selected based on their abilities in leadership, dedication to Heidelberg, integrity, responsibility, academic achievement, cheerfulness, maturity and interpersonal skills.

Founded in 1850, Heidelberg offers 30 majors, 29 minors and 10 pre-professional programs, awarding the bachelor of arts, bachelor of science, bachelor of music degrees, as well as master’s degrees in education, counseling, business administration and music. Affiliated with the United Church of Christ, Heidelberg has been ranked for 26 consecutive years as one of the top colleges in the Midwest by U.S. News and World Report.
