The Music Off Main Block Party was held in Swanton this past weekend. The event is held downtown on Zeiter Way right in front of Benfield Wines and Hub’s Swantucky Pub.

These two businesses, in conjunction with the Swanton Chamber of Commerce, put on the event that has been taking place for the past three months now.

The first event was held back on June, with another one taking place in July. The next event is slated to take place on September 8th, with a second one also being possible for September. Each month has featured live music, food trucks, cornhole, and good community-based fun.

LIVE MUSIC … Live music for the Swanton Music Off Main Block Party was provided by Jenn Shook and John Reichle.

Julia Benfield of Benfield Wines explained that they wanted to put this event on for the community. “We wanted to do community events together in order to bring us all closer as a community. I am looking forward to the next one.”

Julia also explained that she enjoys being involved in the community and is hoping to possibly bring more to the event, and that the event’s success is in large part due to the DORA approved by council earlier this year. Her business is also planning an expansion inside which will help to facilitate this in the future.

Mike Westmeyer also expressed his excitement with how the event has been going. “I am excited with how it’s been going.”

“It’s been great for both businesses and the town. It brings people in from different areas of Northwest Ohio, and it helps out tremendously.”

Again, the next event is scheduled to take place on September 8th. Johnny Rodriguez will be performing music live during the event and new food truck vendors will be on-site to serve customers.
