Never Let Go Ministries of Edgerton, held their 7th Luncheon of Hope on Saturday April 20. It was held at the Edgerton Village Town Hall gymnasium from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., with an estimated 100 + people in attendance. It was a special day filled with Awareness and Hope.
Last year there were an estimated 95,000 people who lost their lives in an alcohol related death, and an estimated 111,000 people who lost their lives in a drug related death.
Never Let Go works endlessly to try and reduce those stats in our small rural area of NW Ohio and beyond.
The day consisted of many speakers sharing their personal testimonies of the way alcohol/ and or drugs/ affected their lives, along with their family members and those who love them.
Tiffany Vocke, BSN, RN, GFN-C, C-MDI, representative of Parkview Bryan Hospital, gave much insight and valuable information about Drugs, Overdoses, and Mental Health, in the ED.
Representatives from the following resources from NW Ohio came and set up tables and were available to talk to anyone who may have questions.
Those resources included: RSNO-RECOVERY SERVICES OF NW OHIO, OHIO GUIDESTONE, NAMI, ECHO, NEW VISION, & W.C. EMS AND NLG. They all provided literature for people to take.
Subway catered the lunch which included a sub or salad, along with chips, and the National Honor Society students at Edgerton High School provided the desserts which consisted of many baked items.
NLG held a raffle of a Michael Kors set, a Blackstone Griddle, and a Walmart gift card. A free will donation was taken at the door.
NLG hoped to bring much needed awareness about the dangers and consequences of alcohol and drug abuse, along with sharing the gift of Hope to everyone in attendance.
They feel the goal was accomplished, as they have heard only positive feedback. It truly was a day of Hope. They would like to thank everyone who helped make this day possible.
