Ninth Annual Wine Festival Held In Holiday City

On November 5, 2022, Holiday City held their ninth annual Wine Festival at Comfort Inn & Suites.

Doors opened at 5:00 p.m. with events lasting until midnight. Guests were able to purchase pre-sale tickets for a cost of twenty dollars, those purchased at the door had a cost of twenty-five dollars.

Admittance, a wine glass, tokens and a Hors’ Devour plate were included with each ticket.

Discounted room rates were offered by the hotel as those who purchased a room received two free tickets.

With two events going on side by side, the Beer Bash began at 3:00 p.m. in JJ Winns Restaurant with over eighteen beers on tap.

The Wine Festival could be accessed through the back double doors of JJ Winns or through the main event door which was located down the hall.

Six local winerys were set up around the Wine Fest room and were happy to serve.

Winery’s included Gillig Winery out of Findlay, Your Winery from Medina, Benfield Winery of Swanton, the Winery at Versailles which has three locations one being in Versailles, American Winery from Wauseon and Stoney Ridge Winery out of Bryan.

Not only were all those in attendance able to enjoy tasty wine, multiple vendors were set up for browsing. Some of these vendors were Mia Bella Candles/ Scent Sations, Mary Kay, Illumi Lights, Downtown Art, Knead for Therapy, Joshuah Taylor Woodworks, 6eleven Boutique, Sweet Stache Farms, Riley’s Permeant Jewelry, and Sophie G Baby Boutique.

A popular source of entertainment was Axcapades, which is located in Edgerton. The activity had a line of many people waiting to throw axes and the caged in targets.

Live entertainment enjoyed by all was provided in JJ Winns Restaurant. Dusty Bo & The Contraband took the stage from 4:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. when Steve Rosenbeck began his show.

Rosenbeck played hit songs known by most until 9:00 p.m. The last to take the stage was Summer Son who performed feel good music that closed out the evening.
