North Central students Alyssa Swank (oboe), Makayla Knapp (oboe), Brooke Bryan (French horn), Jenna Eidenier (trumpet), and Trenton Sakos (trombone) and Hilltop student Brooke Wheeler (flute) had the honor of participating in the All Ohio State Fair Band in Columbus. Founded in 1925, the goal of the band is to have all of Ohio’s 88 counties represented. Students are selected based upon director nominations and solo and ensemble ratings. This year the band had over 200 members from around the state. After four rigorous days of rehearsal, in which musicians learn close to 60 pieces of music, the Band is prepared to delight fairgoers in over 90 concerts and in the daily parade from July 25-August 9.
