North Central School Levy Vote Tied After May 4th Election

There was only one issue up for a vote in Williams County for the May 4 2021 election, but it was a very important and very controversial one.

This was proven to be so in the tie of 308 For and 308 Against, in the unofficial count on the North Central School Levy.

Williams County Board of Elections Director, AJ Nowaczyc, stated in a phone interview that there are two provisional ballots and three outstanding mailed ballots that need to be counted by May 14, 2021 and if there are three of those five who are For the Levy, it will pass.

Levies are determined by a straight majority vote. The official count will be certified on May 18, 2021. “So it is very true,” Nowaczyc said, “that every vote counts!”

In Fulton County, there were seven issues up for a vote, and only one of those was close enough to possibly be affected by provisional and mailed ballots.

Board of Elections Director, Melanie Gilders, said that it appears there is only one outstanding ballot for the Fulton Township 1 mil additional for Fire, so she doesn’t see the unofficial count being changed. At present the results for the Fulton County issues are:

-Fulton Township 1 mil Additional for Fire – 72 For and 74 Against

-Clinton Township 0.3 mil for Current Expenses – 227 For and 173 Against

-Clinton Township 0.15 mil Additional for Cemeteries – 216 For and 184 Against

-German Township 0.6 mil Renewal for Fire – 303 For and 36 Against

-Pike/Delta/York Local School District 1% income tax for Current Expenses – 1075 For and 761 Against

-Archbold Local School District 4.13 mil renewal for Emergency Requirements – 290 For and 53 Against (with the count in Henry County, who are in this district, being – 28 For and 14 Against)

-Fulton County EMS – 2112 For and 1175 Against
