CLEVELAND: May 22, 2014: North Central 7th grade student Todd Earnsberger underwent brain surgery on May 20 at the Cleveland University Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital.

Todd was diagnosed with a condition known as “Chari Malformation. According to the definition provided on the Mayo Clinics Website (www.mayoclinic.org), A Chari malformation is “a condition in which brain tissue extends into the spinal canal.” Surgery can reduce pressure on the brain and spinal cord, and restore the normal flow of spinal fluid to the patient.

The Village Reporter spoke with Todd’s mother, Josefina Earnsberger, by phone on May 22 and Mrs. Earnsberger reported that Todd was making a rapid recovery and was up and about during the afternoon.

Todd Earnsberger II is the only son of Todd and Josefina Earnsberger, and Todd has two older sisters, Whisper and Sabrina along with two younger sisters, Vanessa and Shylea. The Village Reporter and our entire staff wish Todd a speedy and safe recovery and are keeping the entire Earnsberger family in our thoughts during Todd’s recovery.
