DELTA (January 15, 2026) – Both teams entered Thursday night’s clash in “The Jungle” at 2-0 in the NWOAL.

Archbold fought back from a 13-point first half deficit to tie the game early in the fourth quarter, but Delta finished the game on a 15-5 run to defend their homecourt with a 56-46 win over the Streaks.

The turnover bug hindered Archbold in the opening as they coughed it up nine times and Delta’s Addison Wyse was a force inside with two offensive rebound stick backs to help Delta to a 18-10 lead after the first eight minutes.

Delta continued to stretch the lead in the second quarter as Keagyn Gillen scored inside off a pass from super sophomore Anna Lohman, followed by Lohman burying triples from each corner to make it 28-15.

Archbold closed the first half on an 8-2 run to stay within striking distance as a bucket from Charlee Forward, a Molly Harris trey, and Reagan Wendt’s bucket in the lane trimmed the Delta advantage to 30-23 at the break.

Archbold drew closer to open the third quarter with Forward scoring the first four points, Miley Gericke scored on an offensive rebound, and Klaire Kern added a steal and score to make 34-31.

Delta responded with a bucket from Olivia Mohring, another put back by Wyse, and Lohman canned a triple from the left corner, her fourth trifecta of the night, to push the Panthers’ lead to 41-33.

Archbold then orchestrated an 8-0 to tie the game by the scoring the last four points of the third and the first four of the fourth.

Gericke hit two free throws and scored down low to close the third and Forward would open the final stanza with a swipe and score followed by another Gericke bucket to tie it a 41-41 with 6:00 remaining.

The Panthers scored the next four points with Gillen and Mohring each going 1-2 at the free throw line and Abbey Todd knocked down a foul line jumper to make it 45-41.

A Gericke score would bring Archbold to within 45-43 before Gillen scored inside again off a pass from Lohman, Mohring split a pair at the line, and Wyse added another offensive rebound bucket to build the Delta lead to 50-43.

The Panthers iced the game by going 5-8 from the charity stripe down the stretch led by Lohman’s 4-6 effort. Delta would go 9-14 in the quarter after going 5-11 in the first three quarters.

Delta (13-1, 3-0 NWOAL) went 19-48 for 40 percent from the field and was guilty of 19 turnovers. Delta had three in double figures paced by Lohman with 18 points, Wyse had 13, and Gillen contributed 10.

Archbold finished the night with 28 turnovers, 17 of those in the first half, and were 18-38 from the field for 47 percent.

Gericke fronted the Streaks (13-3, 2-1 NWOAL) with 15 points, 13 in the second half, and Forward added 13.
