PRESS RELEASE – The Swanton Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on January 30, 2025 at 12:45 a.m. on the Ohio Turnpike at milepost 62 in the City of Maumee, Lucas County.
The preliminary investigation revealed a 2001 Ford F-550 operated by Charles J. Miller II, 55, of Dallas, TX, was traveling westbound on the Ohio Turnpike.
Miller traveled off the right side of the road and struck and embankment and small trees. Miller was not wearing a seat belt.
Miller was transported by Maumee EMS to the University of Toledo Medical center where he was pronounced deceased.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the City of Maumee Fire and EMS, Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission, and Bubba’s Towing.
