The Evergreen Board of Education met Monday June 21st at 6PM with eight visitors present. After the meeting was called to order the minutes for the previous month’s meeting were approved.
The May 2021 financial reports were approved. A transfer of $7,000 to the Athletic Department was approved. An amended resources list for the fiscal year-end June 30, 2021, was approved.
Appropriation modifications were approved with the treasurer authorized to carry over any outstanding encumbrances as of June 30th, 2021.
Temporary appropriations for the fiscal year ending June 30th, 2022, at 75% of fiscal year 2021’s actual expenditures were approved. Grant Title I improving basic programs were approved for $109,734.93 and will be for the 2021-2022 school year.
A list of donations that were given to the school were approved. An FMLA request from Meranda Kelly was approved. Andrew Haughawout was offered the EES Intervention Specialist position with a one-year limited teaching contract.
Carrie Brown was offered the position of transportation coordinator, Jason Leu was offered the position of groundskeeper, Melissa Nagy was offered the position of Accounts Payable, and Michael Smith was offered the position of Mechanic with each position lasting from July 1st, 2021, to June 30th, 2023.
A three-year limited teaching contract for Nicole Zeigler was rescinded at the May 17th meeting with a new continuing teaching contract approved for the start of the 2021-2022 school year.
Supplemental coaching contracts and volunteers as well as paid and volunteer event workers were approved.
Additional offers were rescinded for new supplemental contracts pending completion of certification and or licensure requirements. The number of contracted days for the High School secretary was reduced from 212 days to 206 days.
A supplemental contract was offered to Zach Shaffer for the JV Boys Basketball coach position pending the completion of all pupil activity permit requirements.
A one-year negotiated agreement between the Evergreen Local Board of Education and Ohio Association of Public School Employees was ratified by the association.
The breakfast and lunch prices were approved for the 2021-2022 school year.
An agreement between the schools and the Northwest Ohio Juvenile Detention, Training, and Rehabilitation Center for education purposes for students during a period of detention was approved for a cost of $44 per day of instruction.
Student handbooks and student fee schedules were approved for the 2021-2022 school year. The council authorized the treasurer to pay the 2021-2022 Northwest Ohio Computer Association membership and EMIS fees of $42,173.22.
It also approved the Technical Service Agreement to purchase IEP Anywhere software, Zoom licenses, content filtering and State software for a total of approximately $4,500.
An approval was given to purchase school district insurance through the Ohio School Plan for a total premium of $57,695.00 for the 12-month period of July 1st, 2021, through July 1st, 2022.
An approved salary increases of 1% for all district employees was approved for the 2021-2022 school year as well as an additional 4 personal days.
All district employees who worked the entire 2020-2021 academic year will receive a $1,500 COVID Stipend.
It was approved to adopt the Sierah Strong Curriculum. Evergreen Schools will be a pilot school for the curriculum. A one-year contract with Taher, Inc. was made to provide food service management to the schools.

A contract with 3 Dimensional Physical Therapy to provide physical therapy services for the 2021-2022 school year was approved.
A Semi-Annual Bullying report for the second semester of the 2020-2021 was discussed. The Annual wellness report was also discussed along with the maintenance report. No NWOAL membership updates were needed at this time.
The board discussed possibly needing to expand the student drug policy to cover all extracurricular activities.
The possibility of installing vape detectors in the restrooms was also discussed. It was then moved and approved to adjourn the meeting.
