The Williams County Engineers, in partnership with The Bryan Area Foundation and volunteers, have worked to place a new Disc Golf Course at the Opdyke Park located to the North of Bryan and South of Holiday City.

The County Engineers Office was approached by Stan Tipton who is a Disc Golf player. He asked if there would be any way to get a course at one of the parks in the county.

He was instructed to go around and look at three parks to see which one would be best suited for a course. He then evaluated the park and drew up a course that the Engineers Office then looked at to see if it would work.

After verifying the planned courses would work, the Engineers Office then worked with the Bryan Area Foundation and contacted the County Commissioners to get their approval.

The Bryan Area Foundation was able to provide them with $12,000’s from a grant. Stan Tipton and volunteers have since been working on putting in the courses and hope to have the work done within the next couple weeks.

The course will have numerous features including elevation changes, woods and a creek to cross in order to provide players in the area a new challenge.
