Paul E. Grimes (1934-2013)

Paul E. Grimes, 78, of Bryan and formerly of Stryker, died Sunday night in Parkview Hospital, Ft. Wayne, IN.

He was born April 27, 1934 in Stryker to the late Howard and Tressie (Hawkins) Grimes. He was a graduate of Stryker High School. He married the former Shirley Whitaker on December 31, 1970 and she preceded him in death on January 16, 2005. Paul was a railroad engineer and also the owner of the former Red Rooster Restaurant in Stryker for many years. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Stryker, Stryker Rotary, and the Stryker Village Council. Paul was a Army veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors: Children, Rick (Lori) Jaggers, Orland, IN., Kathy (Randy) Lloyd, Bryan, Bobbie (Jeff) Erb, Stryker, Lisa (Andy) Grime, Stryker. 13 grandchildren. 24 great-grandchildren. Sister, Lois Dennis, Ft. Wayne, IN.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife,and sisters, Marlene Garber, Ilene Boothman, Ruth Fedderke, Esther Cook.

Funeral service 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 24, 2013, in First Baptist Church, Stryker, Ohio. Pastor Daniel Douglass and Pastor Matt Dodd officiating. Interment will follow in Evansport Cemetery. Luncheon will follow the cemetery services in the church. Friends may call 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday in the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of family preference. Online condolences at www.grisierFH.com.
