Pettisville Blackbirds Conclude BBC Season At Fayette; Prevail 7-2

FAYETTE: May 08– The Pettisville  Blackbirds concluded the 2014 regular season  in the BBC at Fayette on May 8 with a 7-2 victory over the host  Eagles on a sunny afternoon at the Fayette playing fields.  With the victory, Pettisville finishes the year in conference with a 4-6 mark and moving to 4-12 on the seaon.

For the Blackbirds on the rubber,  Tate Kauffman took home the W, allowing just 7 hits in the game and striking out 7 Eagles, while allowing no walks in the game.

Offensively for Pettisville, Logan Nofziger lead the Blackbirds, going 2 for 3 at the plate with a double and 2 RBI’s.  Noah Miller connected for a double while Korben Rychener went 2 for 3 in the win. Dustin Nofziger also saw action at the plate, connecting for a hit in the game.

For Fayette, Jared Wagner took the setback, going 4 innings allowing 5 hits and 7 runs, while setting down 3 batters on the day.  Joel Smith also took the mound for Fayette, going 3 innings and striking out 6 hitters.

For the Eagles at the plate, Drake Bowditch went 2 for 3 in the game and teammate Jerad Seiler also chipped in with a 2 for 3 performance.


Fayette concludes its 2014 BBC campaign with a 0-10 mark and sits at 0-13 on the season.
