Pettisville Defense Proves Too Tough For The Edon Bombers

BRYAN: February 26, 2014 – While size means a lot in basketball, it can be negated by speed. On February 26, the David versus Goliath matchup at the D-IV Sectionals saw the Edon Bombers taking on the Pettisville Blackbirds.

Both teams registered a win against the other during the regular season, but to see the lineups coming out onto the floor for the opening tip, it was a question as to which Edon team would show up…the dominator or the frustrated. For all their advantages in size, the Bombers were frustrated all evening by the speed of a Pettisville defense that turned turnovers into points with rapidity, sending Edon home with a 38-29 defeat.

The loss spells the end of the line for Edon seniors Jacob Brown, River Wicker, Mike Peeples, Brock Thiel, Levi Lemmon and Wyatt Walkowski.

No individual stats were received pursuant to this game. Pettisville takes on North Central for the Sectional title on February 28.
