TRIP TO COLUMBUS … On Wednesday, September 24, 2025, four Pettisville FFA members went to the Ohio Statehouse to attend the Ohio FFA Ohio Legislative Leadership Conference (OLLC). OLLC is organized by the State FFA Officers and Ohio Farm Bureau. This conference gave FFA members hands-on experience and engagement, to fully grasp the inner workings of the state bills and how they have an effect on agriculture. At this conference students took part in activities that resembled how bills are addressed and how they pass or fail. Such activities included interactive workshops, mock lobbying sessions, and some chapters were even able to meet with state legislators. After the workshop, the Pettisville FFA members were able to tour the building and view an area of the state’s history along with the building’s history. After the exploration, the Ohio FFA association hosted a luncheon where we had speakers talk about their agriculture experience and what their role in the Ohio Statehouse is. The students who were fortunate to attend enjoyed the experience and learned how the process of bills go through the statehouse. Pictured are Pettisville FFA members Olivia Beck, Katie Moore, Ava Genter, and Sophie Wilke standing in the Ohio Statehouse.
