(September 30th, 2014)- In Junior High Buckeye Border Conference action, the Lady Blackbirds of Pettisville did battle with the Fayette Lady Eagles. It was Pettisville who found themselves victorious in both Seventh and Eighth Grade games.
The Lady Blackbirds set the pace in the Seventh Grade game, and never relented. A 25-12 score indicated a Pettisville win in game 1. Fayette improved in game 2, but couldn’t get over the hump, as they dropped the set 15-25, giving the match to Pettisville in straight sets.
Fayette had a better showing in the Eighth Grade game, despite finding themselves down a set with a 13-25 loss in game 1. The second set belonged to the Lady Eagles, as they wrestled a 25-23 victory away from Pettisville. The Lady Blackbirds pulled away in game 3, though, and they came away with a 25-13 win to take the match.
