PIONEER: April 10– Pettisville hit the road to open BBC play on April 10, traveling to Pioneer to take on the North Central Lady Eagles. After a hard fought back and fourth game that saw the lead change hands in the 6th inning, the Lady Blackbirds had just enough offensive to walk out with a 13-11 victory.
On the mound for Pettisville, Teagan Kauffman went the distance, chalking up 8 strike-outs while giving up 10 hits and allowing 5 earned runs. Makayla Hayes took the loss for North Central, going 7 innings and allowing 15 hits in the game.
Offensively for Pettisville, it was a Klopfenstein explosion as Audra and Amber exploded for 3 RBI’s each; Amber had a single and a triple, while Audra recorded a single and triple as well. Johanna Roth, Kauffman, Stephanie Hubby, Jaelyn Rufenacht Mallory Riegsecker, Taylor D’Alelio and Emily Hubby each logged singles in the win.
For North Central, Rachael Oxender exploded for 4 RBI’s off a single and double, while Macayla Wildrick drove in 3 on 2 singles. Tristin Tomblin recorded a single and a double, while Alyssa Swank and Sabrina Pickford each had singles resulting in an RBI. Makayla Hayes and Allyson Hutchison also recorded singles in the loss.
Pettisville moved to 1-0 in the BBC and 2-1 on the season while the loss drops North Central to 0-1 in the BBC and 1-6 on the season.
