The Pettisville School Board of Education met on April 13th in regular session via a YouTube livestream. During the meeting the Board agreed to continue its membership in the Northwest Ohio Educational Research Council at a cost of $200.00. The Board also approved continuing with the Educational Service Center as it is currently being utilized.

The Board accepted the resignations of Linda Riegsecker and Dave Disbrow due to retirement. The Board also approved the hiring of a second On Bus Instructor on an as needed basis. This will be used to supplement the current OBI to help expedite training of new bus drivers.

The Board also accepted State bus assistance in the amount of $34,601 for the purchase of one new bus for the district.  According to the State, a new bus should cost $87,700.  The bus would have to be purchased by September 30th of 2021, which fall within the already budgeted time frame of a new bus.

Plans have been put in place for finishing out the school year if the district does not open up for the rest of the school year.  Teachers still have office hours for students to connect with their students and each other.  Google Classroom is also being utilized for learning.  Grades for the junior high school will be pass/fail for the fourth quarter, but high school will still be receiving letter grades due to scholarships and class ranking.

Prom has been cancelled for the school, but the school is still hoping to do something special for the students once they are allowed to do so.  Businesses and individuals that have contributed items to post prom will be contacted to see if they would like the items returned, or used in future endeavors. Commencement is still being planned and will be discussed as the state mandates change.
