(Monday, May 4th 2015): PETTISVILLE—Coach Paul Bishop and the Pettisville Blackbirds geared up for the week by welcoming the BBC adversaries from Fayette. Coming off a tough loss from the previous Thursday, the Eagles were still yet in search of a win on the road.

Noah Miller initiated the first pitch of the game on the mound for the Blackbirds. Miller, a Senior, held off the Fayette offense to just 4 hits in 5 innings with an impressive 9 strikeouts and just 1 walk. Koby Biddix, also a Senior, pitched 4.1 innings against the Blackbirds giving up a total of 11 runs in 8 hits while striking out 3 and walking 6 batters. Fayette’s Casen Burkholder entered in the 5th inning to relieve Biddix; Burkholder would finish up the game giving up 1 hit to drive in two runs and thereby forcing the mercy rule as Pettisville would take the win at 11-1.

Offensively, the Blackbirds were unmatched during the game. Freshman Landon Roth dominated in the event, going 3-for-3 with a double and and 2 RBIs. Teammates Eli King and Noah Miller would both go 1-for-2 with 2 RBIs. Fayette’s Jared Wagner went 2-for-3 on the night as Justin White went 1-for-2 and Isaiah Garrett also got a hit in the game.

Pettisville’s record improved to 10-6 in the season and 8-1 in the BBC conference while Fayette endured yet another heartbreaking loss in search of their first win in the season.
