Edon Defeats North Central In Road Victory

May 10, 2015Updated:December 31, 2020No Comments2 Mins Read

(May 4th, 2015) – PIONEER: Making the trip to Pioneer, the Bombers stopped by the Eagles’ home nest to take on North Central in Buckeye Border Conference play. While the contest was a tight one early on, Edon eventually pulled away for a 6 run victory.

The Bomber boys handled North Central 9-3.

Edon found a grove early, putting up the initial 2 runs of the game in the top of the first. The Eagles had an immediate answer, however, matching that production in the bottom half of the inning to tie the contest. Not slowing down offensively, the Bombers tacked on 3 more runs in the second inning, a total which North Central would be unable to match throughout the remainder of the game.

Scoring another run in the third inning, the boys of Pioneer still found themselves in a 5-3 deficit. Edon began to create separation in the fourth inning, adding 2 more runs to their total. Following a quiet fifth and sixth innings for both units, Edon scored 2 more runs in the top of the seventh to secure the win.

Colton Lyman had a monster day at the plate for the Bombers. The junior standout hit for 2 singles and a home run, bringing in 3 RBIs. Teammate Landon Bloir earned a pair of singles and 2 RBIs. Senior Edon hitter Kaden Sapp hit a single and 2 doubles as he drove in an RBI.

Jordan Reeves hit a 2 RBI double for North Central. Teammate Dakota Athy produced a double, while Davic Pinc and Ryan France each hit for 2 singles. Senior Eagle Colton Pilmore hit a single as well.

Pitching all seven innings for Edon was sophomore Braden Miller, who picked up the win. Giving up just 1 earned run, he allowed 7 hits. Miller went the entire contest without walking a batter, striking out 9 Eagles.

Reeves also stayed on the mound for the duration of the game. He allowed 9 earned runs off of 13 hits. Striking out 5 Edon batters, he walked 5 more in the loss.
