The Village of Pioneer Planning Commission met on Monday, September 8, 2025, at 6:21 p.m. to review and act on property-related requests.

In attendance were Administrator Anthony Burnett, Solicitor Tom Thompson, Ryan Burt, Connie Salsbury, and Roger Swank. It was noted that the sixth member, Ed Kidston, abstained and refrained from participation to avoid a conflict of interest.

The first matter before the commission was a request submitted on behalf of Josh and Jodi Fiser for a lot split at 404 Indiana Street.

The proposal sought to divide a 100-by-99-foot portion from the northeast corner of their property, which would be replatted with an adjacent parcel owned by Ed and Ann Kidston at 600 West Michigan Street.

Following review and confirmation that the split conformed with setback requirements, the request was approved.

The second item addressed an offer to donate the right-of-way at the end of West Michigan Street. The donation was contingent upon the understanding that a structure would be built, maintaining a minimum setback of 10 feet from the right-of-way.

The Village of Pioneer was unaware of previous ownership and welcomed the addition to clean up their affairs. As part of the agreement, the cul-de-sac will be donated to the village with contingencies noted. The measure was approved unanimously.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:27 p.m. with no further business presented.
