A Wauseon man was sentenced on January 20, 2017, in the Fulton County Common Pleas Court. Nicholas L. Hicks, age 19, previously pled guilty to Breaking & Entering. According to Fulton County Prosecutor Scott A. Haselman, on or about September 7, 2016, Mr. Hicks trespassed on a Wauseon property with purpose to commit a felony. Judge Jeffrey L. Robinson sentenced Mr. Hicks to three years of community control. He ordered Mr. Hicks to pay prosecution costs and counsel fees, not consume or possess alcohol, not enter bars or taverns, abide by a 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM curfew, successfully complete mental health counseling, submit to random drug testing, and obtain a GED. Failure to abide by these conditions could result in Mr. Hicks serving 8 months in prison.
A Toledo woman was sentenced on January 20, 2017, in the Fulton County Common Pleas Court. Selena Galloway, age 20, previously pled guilty to Attempted Receiving Stolen Property. According to Fulton County Prosecutor Scott A. Haselman, on or about March 25, 2016, Ms. Galloway attempted to receive stolen property knowing or having reasonable cause to believe it had been stolen. Judge Jeffrey L. Robinson sentenced Ms. Galloway to one year of community control. He ordered her to serve 180 days in CCNO with all but 11 days suspended and credit for 11 days, pay prosecution costs and counsel fees, pay a fine of $250, successfully complete a theft education course, and have no contact with her co-defendants.
A Wauseon man was sentenced on January 20, 2017, in the Fulton County Common Pleas Court according to county prosecutor Scott A. Haselman. Robert T. Mattin, Jr., age 23, previously pled guilty to Breaking and Entering, Failure to Periodically Verify Current Address, and Failure to Appear on Personal Recognizance Bond. On January 31, 2016, he broke into the KFC Restaurant in Wauseon with purpose to commit a theft offense. On or about the month of January 2016 to March 23, 2016, he failed to provide notice of his change of address to the Sheriff’s Office as a registered sex offender. On November 15, 2016, he failed to appear for a hearing in the Fulton County Common Pleas Court. Judge Jeffrey L. Robinson sentenced Ms. Mattin to 10 months in prison for Breaking and Entering, 36 months in prison for Failure to Periodically Verify Current Address, and 6 months in prison for Failure to Appear on Personal Recognizance Bond. Said sentences for Breaking and Entering and Failure to Periodically Verify Current Address shall be served consecutively with each other, and shall be served concurrently with the 6 month prison term for Failure to Appear, for a total of 46 months in prison. Mr. Mattin was also ordered to pay all prosecution costs, court appointed counsel fees, and to pay restitution of %5,538.45 to KFC.
A Wauseon woman was sentenced on January 23, 2017, in the Fulton County Common Pleas Court according to county prosecutor Scott A. Haselman. Brandi Shadbolt, 26, previously pled guilty to Trafficking in Marihuana. On February 23, 2016, she sold Marihuana. Judge Jeffrey L. Robinson sentenced Ms. Shadbolt to 2 years of community control and ordered her to pay a fine of $500, pay restitution of $180 to the MAN Unit, submit to random urinalysis drug testing, not process or consume any illegal drugs, seek and maintain employment, successfully complete any treatments that are recommended by her probation officer, and serve 30 days in CCNO. Failure to comply could resuly in Ms. Shadbolt spending 8 months in prison.
A Wauseon man was sentenced on January 24, 2017, in the Fulton County Common Pleas Court. Oscar L. Gallardo, age 21, previously pled guilty to Attempted Aggravated Trafficking in Drugs. According to Fulton County Prosecutor Scott A. Haselman, on or about June 14, 2016, Mr. Gallardo attempted to sell a controlled substance. Judge Jeffrey L. Robinson sentenced Mr. Gallardo to two years of community control. He ordered Mr. Gallardo to pay prosecution costs and counsel fees, pay a fine of $250, pay restitution of $260 to the MAN Unit, not consume or possess alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs, not enter bars or taverns, successfully complete the SEARCH Program and comply with all aftercare conditions, abide by an 11:00 PM to 6:00 AM curfew, submit to random drug testing, and seek and maintain employment. His driver’s license was suspended for 6 months with occupational and treatment privileges. Failure to abide by these conditions could result in Mr. Gallardo serving 11 months in prison.
A Wauseon woman was sentenced on January 24, 2017, in the Fulton County Common Pleas Court according to county prosecutor Scott A. Haselman. Makayla Okuley, age 23, previously pled guilty to Possession of Heroin. On February 11, 2016, she possessed Heroin. Judge Jeffrey L. Robinson sentenced Ms. Okuley to 2 years of community control and ordered her to pay prosecution costs and successfully complete drug treatment at Serenity Haven. Failure to comply could result in Ms. Okuley spending 11 months in prison.
A Wauseon man was sentenced on January 24, 2017, in the Fulton County Common Pleas Court. Ari Villa Parada, age 22, was convicted of two counts of Trafficking in Cocaine after a Fulton County Jury had found him guilty of both counts. According to Fulton County Prosecutor Scott A. Haselman, on or about May 9, 2016 and May 12, 2016, Mr. Villa Parada sold cocaine. Judge Jeffrey L. Robinson sentenced Mr. Villa Parada to two years of community control. He ordered Mr. Villa Parada to serve six months in CCNO, pay prosecution costs and counsel fees, pay $735 in restitution to the MAN Unit, not possess illegal drugs, successfully complete counseling, submit to random drug testing, and seek and maintain employment. Failure to abide by these conditions could result in Mr. Villa Parada serving 6 months in prison.
A Wauseon man was sentenced on January 26, 2017, in the Fulton County Common Pleas Court according to county prosecutor Scott A. Haselman. Jitender Dua, age 40, previously pled guilty to Attempted Illegal Use of Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program Benefits of WIC Program Benefits. On September 8, 2016, he attempted to accept food stamp benefits for ineligible items. Judge Jeffrey L. Robinson sentenced Mr. Dua to 1 year of community control and ordered him to pay a $1,000 fine, serve 30 hours of community service with a non-profit within 120 days, pay restitution of $12.48 to the Ohio Department of Public Safety. Failure to comply could result in Mr. Dua spending 180 days in CCNO.
FULTON COUNTY SHERIFF
Sheriff Roy E. Miller announces that the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office conducted a Traffic Enforcement Blitz that ran from January 16th through January 21st. Deputies who worked this Blitz made 35 traffic stops and issued 12 citations. The citations issued were for 11 speed violations and 1 for drug paraphernalia.
