Randy L. Kirkendall (1960-2012)

Randy L. Kirkendall, Sr., 51 a lifelong resident of Montpelier died Wednesday, October 24th at his mother’s home in Montpelier. He was born November 11, 1960 in Bryan to Dale C. and Billie S. (Wooster) Kirkendall. Randy graduated from North Central Schools in Pioneer in 1979.
Randy attended the Montpelier Nazarene Church and was also a member of the Montpelier Eagles.
Randy worked for Chambers Leasing Systems in Bryan as a truck driver for the past 16 years, until his battle with cancer prevented him from working. He also had a great love for working on sprint cars and was on the pit crew for his cousin Ryan Kirkendall Racing, car number 27K.
He is survived by his mother Billie Kirkendall, one son Randy (Nellie) Kirkendall Jr. of Edon, three grandchildren Benjamin, Renay and James Mathews, one sister Karen (Dave) Armstrong of Montpelier, two brothers David W. Kirkendall of Toledo, Robert Kirkendall and fiancé Sandy Hemenway of Lorida FL, nieces and nephews Mandy Sweet, Keith (Jenni) Rockwood Jr., Melissa (Brandon) Bell, three great nieces and three great nephews.
Randy was preceded in death by his father.
Visitation hours for Randy will be Sunday October 28th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Thompson Funeral Home in Pioneer. Services will be Monday October 29th at 11 am at the funeral home with Pastor John Rumple to officiate. Interment will follow at Floral Grove Cemetery in Pioneer. Donations may be made to the family.
