Rex E. Manges was born on July 27, 1937, near Edon, the son of Sylvester Earl and Mildred Jane (Wisman) Manges. He married Karen D. Newcomb on June 9, 1957, in West Unity, Ohio, and she survives.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Kathy (Mike) Powers, of Kettering, Ohio, and Debra (Chuck) Brumbaugh, of Edon; two sons, Randall (Georgene) Manges and Steven (Terri) Manges, both of Edon; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; one sister, Linda (George) Hudak, of Bowling Green, Ohio; and a sister-in-law, Martha Manges, of Edon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant twin brother, Ross Manges; one brother, Lyle Manges; and a sister and brother-in-law, Norma and Marvin Thiel.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2020, at 11:00 A.M. in Edon Cemetery, with Pastor Jeff Brookins officiating. Interment will follow in Edon Cemetery.
