A new pharmacy has opened for business in Swanton. Originally opening back on December 5th, 2024, CareRX is owned and operated by pharmacist Najib Mawad, who also owns and operates Lagrange Pharmacy off Central and All Care Pharmacy by St. John’s.
Mawad graduated from Toledo in 1990 and has ties to the Swanton area. He explained that, since the closing of the Rite Aid in town, friends from the area had been calling and asking for him to open a pharmacy in town.
He had previously worked in Swanton and loved the experience he had while in town and also loved the people.
When asked what makes his pharmacy stand out, Mawad explained that they provide a variety of different services to their customers.
Some of these services include prescription delivery to their customers, compliance packages that are like daily regiments.
This service takes the customers’ meds, places them in a perforated package and includes when to take each section.
Some applications where this service is useful is when customers struggle with remembering to take all of their medications, or for people on the go who would rather not take six or seven containers of meds with them. CareRX also performs vaccinations and will help to special order medications.
This includes specialty items that most other pharmacies don’t carry. Najib also explained that his pharmacy takes most insurances, including but not limited to Ohio Medicaid, Medicare, Express Scripts, Tri Care and most other government and private insurances.
Mawad has been in the pharmacy industry for quite a while now and is happy to call Swanton home. “I am very excited to see a lot of my friends coming in and they are all excited too.”

The new pharmacy is located at 14241 Airport Highway in Swanton. The pharmacy extends a warm invitation to all residents seeking “a dependable, family owner pharmacy”.
