Richard B. Greene, age 99, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away at 8:35 A.M. on Monday, February 24, 2020, at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice near Defiance, Ohio.

Richard was the owner of Precision Metal Form in Bryan. Dick was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, having served in the South Pacific. He was a member of the Bryan VFW Post 2489 and Bryan Moose Lodge 1064 and was a long time member of Orchard Hills Country Club, where he developed his love of golf, and served as their president for several years.

He was a world traveler visiting many countries in Europe, as well as The Holy Land, and the Canadian Rockies. Richard was also a 50-year member of Wesley United Methodist Church, where he was active in the choir and the United Methodist Men’s club, and he was president of the Outreach Food Pantry of Williams County for over 35 years.

Richard B. Greene was born on February 28, 1920, in Melbern, Ohio, the son of Jacob S. and Nora E. (Cunningham) Greene. Dick was a graduate of Bryan High School and attended Northwestern University until the beginning of World War II.


He married Margaret Ann Stickney on June 27, 1947, and she preceded him in death.

Richard is also survived by his daughters, Gale Figy, of Mesa, Arizona, and Holly (John) Hosterman, of Harleysville, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, Kelly Burns, Kimberly Limber, Melaney Limber and Garrett Figy; step-grandchildren, Brent, Trevor, Jade and Chandler Hosterman; thirteen great-grandchildren, Ariel Armstrong, Nicholas (Frances) and Kristopher Burns, Koral Limber, Nathaniel Chrisman, Silas and Faith McGuiness, Nyomi and Celina Astorga, Savannah, Lacey, Aryan and Wyatt Figy; step-great-granddaughter, Lucy Dayton; great-great-granddaughter, Isabella Armstrong; and nephews, Thomas Greene, Kirk and Kent Stickney.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brother, Robert Greene.


Visitation for Richard will be held on Friday, February 28, 2020, from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, and from 9:00-11:00 A.M. at the Wesley United Methodist Church, prior to the service. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 29, 2020, at Wesley United Methodist Church with Pastor Peter Paige officiating. Burial will follow at Brown Cemetery with grave side military rites provided by Bryan VFW Post 2489 and the U.S. Navy Honor Guard.

The family requests that instead of flowers, memorial donations be given to the Wesley United Methodist Church Outreach program in his memory.
