Carole Leatherman, 86, of Bryan and a former lifelong Edon resident, passed away Monday, April 13, 2026, at Parkview Bryan Hospital Emergency Room. Carole was born June 18, 1939, in Lima, Ohio, the daughter of the late Louis and Rose (Taylor) Lombard.
Carole was a 1957 graduate of Lima Central Catholic High School. Carole married Robert C. “Bob” Leatherman on Jan. 13, 1962, in Lima, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 2020.
A longtime homemaker, Carole was also a purchasing agent and assistant traffic manager for Gro-Cord Rubber Company in Lima. Carole loved to garden and assist her husband in making wine, which they were well known for with friends and family.
She was an avid reader, enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles, and she had a special touch in raising her African violets, and more recently Christmas cactus. She also enjoyed attending the productions at the Williams County Community Theater. She treasured the time she spent with her family creating memories that will last forever.
Surviving are her two children, Terry (Sherri) Leatherman of Fremont, New Hampshire, and Mary Leatherman of Bryan; two grandchildren, Thomas (Beth) Leatherman of Bedford, New Hampshire, and Kelly (Dat) Vu of Lunenburg, Massachusetts; four great-grandchildren, Leo and Callen Leatherman, Grace and Mia Vu; and her grand dog, Teddy Leatherman. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert “Bob,” and one sister, Mary Kit.
Visitation for Carole Leatherman will be held Thursday, April 16, 2026, from 4-7 p.m. at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 17, 2026, with Pastor David Nicholls officiating, in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton.
