Rose M. Burkholder (1940 -2016)

Rose Marie Burkholder, age 75, of Stryker passed away Friday December 16, 2016 at the University of Toledo Medical Center. Prior to her retirement she had been the Stryker High School secretary for 25 years.

Mrs. Burkholder was born on December 21, 1940 near Pioneer, Ohio the daughter of the late Clifford and the late Adah (Owen) Clark. On April 18, 1959 she married Glen Burkholder and he survives. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Stryker where she had been very active over the years. She had worked with the AWANA childrens group and was the Church Clerk. She had also been active in the Williams County Genealogical Society, the Stryker Heritage Council and was a member of First Families of Ohio.

Surviving besides her husband, Glen are three daughters; Joyce (Mark) Miller of Archbold, Karen (Chris) Norris of Marion, IN and Laura (Tom) Rowlands of New Bern, NC. Also surviving are grandchildren; Michael (Amber) Miller, Katie (Jacob) Hindall, Ariel Miller, James (Lindsey Otto) Norris, Andrew (Julia) Norris, Jenna (Henry) Kennedy, Jonathan and soon-to-be baby sister Rowlands. Great-grandchildren; Morgan, Zoe Lulfs, Braden, Abbie Norris and Sister; Joan Ruffer of Stryker also survive. Preceding her in death besides her parents were granddaughter Susan Miller and brother, Kenneth Clark.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Tuesday December 20, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Stryker with Pastor Sean Ingram officiating. Interment will follow in the Stryker Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 pm at the church.


The family requests that memorial contributions be given to either the First Baptist Church AWANA program, First Baptist Church Youth Group or the Skyview Baptist Ranch. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.GrisierFH.com. The Grisier Funeral Home in Stryker has been entrusted with arrangements.
