Thursday, December 15 Scoring Summaries

GIRLS VARSITY BASKETBALL

Archbold 84, Southview 36

After Southview took a 10-9 first quarter lead, the rest of the game belonged to the Bluestreaks in the easy non-league victory.  Archbold exploded for 36 second quarter points on way to the lopsided win. Five Bluestreaks finished the game in double figures led by Kierstyn Repp’s 20 points. Andi Peterson added 14, Alyssa Ziegler had 12, and Emie Peterson and Brooke Kohler chipped in with 10 points apiece.

Bryan 44, Hicksville 41

The Golden Bears took the non-league victory behind the performance of Allye Minor who finished with 25 points, eight rebounds and nine assists.

Delta 66, Wauseon 38

The Panthers broke the game open in the second quarter with a 14-5 run on way to their non-league win over their NWOAL rival. Abby Freeman and Maddie Mattimore continued their leading roles for Delta as they each finished with 23 points in the win. Maya Suarez led Wauseon with 12 points.

VARSITY BOYS BASKETBALL

Ayersville 66, Hilltop 54

The Pilots put the game away with a 16-9 advantage in the fourth quarter during the non-conference contest. Despite the loss, the Cadets had three players finish in double figures with Ryan Brooker’s 15 points and Tim Maneval and Quinn Smith with 13 points apiece.

Fayette 47 Edon 44

The Eagles took a commanding 31-16 lead by the half, but the Bombers came fighting back with 28 second half points in the second half to narrowly lose the BBC contest. Fayette finished with two players in double figures as Grant Reinking and Tharyn Colegrove scored 10 points apiece. Edon was led by Austin Kiess with 18 points and Braden Miller with 13 points.

North Central 77, Montpelier 72

Michael Blake’s 33-point performance as not enough as the Locomotives fell to the Eagles in the BBC clash. North Central earned the win with three players finishing in double figures. Josh Roesener finished with 18, Keean Livensparger added 16 and Josh Bailey contributed with 10. Kolden Uribes added 23 points for Montpelier.

Stryker 44, Pettisville 43

The Blackbirds were handed their first loss of the young season. A Stryker 15-6 third quarter proved to be the game changer after Pettisville held a 26-18 halftime lead. The Bomber were led on the floor by Luke Holsopple with 11 points and Colton Benson with 10 points. Caleb Rychener led Pettisville with 12 points.

BOYS JUNIOR VARSITY BASKETBALL

Kinsman Propane

Stryker 44, Pettisville 36

Daniel Fether led the Panthers to the win finishing with 15 points. Sam Rychener paced the Blackbirds with 14 points.

North Central 54, Montpelier 40

Like the varsity game, a spotlight performance by a Locomotive was not enough for the win. Montpelier’s Blake Bumb led the game’s scorers finishing with 22 points. But it was the 21 points from Levi Williams and 19 from Jack Bailey that helped the Eagles to the BBC win.

VARSITY WRESTLING

Howard Hanna – Brad

Wauseon 75, Patrick Henry 6

After winning the first four matches by forfeit, Wauseon got pins from Tyler Lange (126lbs.) and Maurido Barajas (132 lbs.) to gain the momentum. Other Wauseon wins came from Hunter Yackee (138lbs.) with a 6-3 win, Aaron Newland (145lbs.) with a pin in 4:50, Xavier Torres (152lbs.) win by forfeit, Andrew Bailey (160lbs.) pin in :39, Trent Davis (170lbs.) and Aaron Harris (182lbs.) wins by forfeit and Tony Banister (195lbs.) with a pin in 3:16.

Wauseon 67, Swanton 9

In the second match at the NWOAL quad meet the Indians rolled again. Gavin Ritter (106lbs.) scored a technical fall in 5:23, McKayla Campbell (113 lbs.) won by forfeit, Jarrett Bischoff (120lbs) and Tyler Lange (126lbs.) won by pins. Bischoff won in :46 while Lange was a winner I 1:53. Maurico Barajas (132lbs.) won a 3-1 decision, Hunter Yackee (138lbs.) won by a pin in 4:43, Sandro Ramirez (152lbs.) won with a pin in :54, Xavier Torres (160lbs.) was an 18-3 winner, Andrew Bailey (170lbs.) won by pin in 1:10, Aaron Harris (195lbs.), Tony Banister (195lbs.) and Alex Sosa (285lbs.) all won with pins. Harris in 1:04, Banister in :35, and Sosa in 1:42.

Hudson (MI) 33, Delta 30

Swanton Public Library

The Panthers turned in an outstanding effort against one of the top wrestling programs in Michigan as there were no pins during the match. Drew Mattin (126 lbs.), CJ Leffler (132 lbs.), Colin Hoffman (138 lbs.), Travis Barnes (145 lbs.), John Mlynarek (160 lbs.), JD Osborn (170 lbs.), Dylan Rogers (182 lbs.) were winners for the Panthers.

BOYS JUNIOR HIGH BASKETBALL

North Central 31, Edgerton 28

7th grade – The Eagles were led in scoring by Zach Hayes with 12 points, Tucker Beres with 11 points, Colton Hicks with six points and Colin Patten with two points.

Edgerton 21, North Central 16 (OT)

Siebenaler Construction

8th grade – The overtime game saw the Bulldogs steal away the win. North Central was led with Roman Sutton, Luke Zuver and Ben Turner. Sutton led with nine points, Zuver with five points and Turner with two points.

GIRLS VARSITY BASKETBALL

Archbold 64, Tinora 38

The high flying Bluestreaks won the Defiance Tournament with the 26-point victory. Kierstyn Repp played her typical leadership role for the Streaks as she finished with a game high 19 points including three more three-point makes. Andi Peterson scored five baskets from the floor to finish with 10 points.
