Scoring Summary Friday, April 22, 2016

 

VARSITY BASEBALL

Archbold 11, Evergreen 4

The Bluestreaks piled up 15 hits in the NWOAL win. Evergreen jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the top of the second, but from then on it was all Archbold. The Bluestreaks crossed the plate three times in the third, twice in the second and five times in the fifth to run away with the victory. Ian Radabaugh led the offensive charge with three RBI on three for four hitting. Bryce Williams and Seth Mayer each had two RBI. Toby Walker, Trevor Rupp and Ben Bucklew had one RBI apiece. Bucklew improved his pitching record to 4-0 getting the complete game win while allowing six hits and striking out four.  Ruth led Evergreen with a perfect two for two at the plate. Moore took the loss pithcing 4.1 innings and giving up 12 hits.

 

Archbold 5, Holgate 0


The Bluestreaks finished the night off with a non-league win. Trevor Rupp stayed unbeaten on the mound with a two hitter and 10 strikeouts. Lathon Babcock and Nic Rodriguez were each two for three with one run batted in. Ian Radabaugh collected two hits while Seth Mayer hit a triple.

 

Hilltop 5, Evergreen 1

The Cadets evened their season record at 6-6 with the four-run win against the Eagles. The game was scoreless until the fourth inning when each team scored a run. Hilltop strung three in the fifth and one in the six while shutting Fayette out down the stretch. Despite the six run total, Fayette compiled only three hits to Hilltop’s two. Pitching an excellent game for both their teams were Fayette’s Casen Burkholder and Hilltop’s Kohl Collins. Burkholder gave up two hits and struck out 11 while Collins gave up three hits and struck out eight. Drake Bowditch gathered two hits off of Collins for the Eagles while Joel Smith had the other hit. Nic Schieber and Quinn Smith had one RBI each for the Cadets. Smith’s hits included a single and double.
