Friday, December 30 Scoring Summaries.

BOYS VARSITY BASKETBALL

Fayette 44, Delta 39

In a game that saw 12 three point makes, the Eagles outlasted Delta in a non-conference matchup. Tharyn Colegrove had one of those threes and led Fayette with 10 points. Delta finished with two players in double figures as Goirgio Festironi was the game’s leading scorer with 14 points and Gabe Freeman finished with 12 points.


Montpelier 80, Fostoria 63

A 34-point performance by the Locos’ Michael Blake helped Montpelier capture the Northwood Tournament championship. Kolden Uribes poured in 22 points and Colin Rockey added 11 points in supporting roles.

Ottawa Hills 64, Pettisville 61 (OT)

After trailing by five points to end the third quarter, the Blackbirds outscored Ottawa Hills 17-12 in the final quarter to send the game into overtime. Pettisville was outscored 8-5 in the extra session as they fell to 5-4 overall on the season. Despite the loss, Pettisville finished with three players in double figures including Detric Yoder with 18 points, Justin Rupp with 13 points and Dillon King with 10 points.

BOYS JUNIOR VARSITY BASKETBALL


Delta 31, Fayette 27

The Panthers used nine points from the foul line to propel them to the non-league win over the Eagles. Delta was led by Robbie Arredonde who finished in double figures with 11 points. Fayette’s Noah Brineger was the game’s leading scorer with six twos and one tre for 15 points.

Montpelier 46, Northwood 30 – No game stats were received.

Ottawa Hills 44, Pettisville 33 – No game stats were submitted.

VARSITY WRESTLING


BRECKSVILLE HOLIDAY TOURNAMENT

Wauseon finished 9th out of 49 teams during the two-day event. This annual tournament is considered one of the toughest tournaments in Ohio. Every Indians wrestler competing came away with at least one win.  Two individuals finished as runners up as Junior Sandro Ramirez (145 lbs) and Senior Tony Banister (194 lbs) made it all the way to the final match in their classes. Senior Andrew Bailey (160 lbs) and Junior Hunter Yackee (138 lbs) both finished 7th.

Junior Mauricio Barajas (132 lbs) and Sophomores Gavin Ritter (106 lbs), Xavier Torres (152 lbs) and Trent Davis (170 lbs) were all one match away from placement.
