One of the most popular restaurants in the area, Seasons Coffee & Bistro, located in downtown Bryan, has announced it will be closing its doors on Saturday, April 25.
The restaurant, which opened in October 2005, has been a home, a gathering place, and a space filled with so many memories.
For over two decades, Seasons Coffee & Bistro not only served daily breakfast and lunch but also featured several different coffees along with various beverages, attracting people from all walks of life.
Rebecca Lane, who has been the owner of Seasons Coffee & Bistro for the past 11 years, said the decision to close was a choice that needed to be made.
“It was a very tough decision to close with a very heavy heart,” admitted Lane.
There were a lot of tears shed among her 10 fellow employees after Lane announced her decision to close following a meeting with them on Tuesday, April 14, the day it was posted on social media.
“They (employees) were very understanding when I told them,” said Lane.
One of the reasons Lane decided to move on was the cost of purchasing food for her restaurant has gone up in recent years, especially since the price of a case of fresh tomatoes is now $100.
Lane wrote on the Seasons Coffee & Bistro Facebook page that they had the honor of serving the incredible community, watching families grow, sharing conversations over coffee, and building relationships that mean the world to them.
Seasons Coffee & Bistro will definitely be missed as a big part of Bryan’s daily lifestyle.
The restaurant has hosted numerous high school class reunions, family gatherings, birthday parties, community events, social gatherings, and area business and organizational meetings over the years.
Lane appreciated all of the loyal customers who have patronized her business over the years and thinks of them as family.
“To our amazing customers, you’ve become like family,” wrote Lane in her Facebook post. “Thank you for your support, your kindness, and for choosing us day after day.
To our Seasons crew- past and present, you are truly the heart and soul of this place. We couldn’t have done without you. This isn’t easy, and there are so many emotions behind this decision.
“But more than anything, we are just incredibly grateful. Please stop in and see us before we close. We would love the chance to say goodbye and thank you in person.”
