Homeplate Kitchen Ministries was officially welcomed to the community with a ribbon cutting ceremony held August 1, 2025.
Rooted in service and driven by faith, Homeplate Kitchen Ministries has already made a notable impact in Edgerton, Ohio. Their official location can be found on 138 North Michigan Avenue, where they have opened an in-house catering venue.
With a wide variety of entrees to choose from, including hot and cold sides, the Homeplate Kitchen is sure to have something for everyone to enjoy. Cheeseburgers, BBQ pork chops, and Salisbury steak are just a few to mention. At this time, service is limited to take-out only.
Owners Nick and Reba Jones credit their business to faith, teamwork, and community values; stating their mission has always been to bless others through service.
They expressed deep gratitude to those who supported and trusted them during their early efforts, emphasizing that their work is not about profit, but about showing up for the village they call home.
“It takes a village,” states Jones, “and if that’s true anywhere, it’s here – in our little corner of Northwest, Ohio.”
The owners note that they like to take the extra help when it comes to helping their community, especially during times of need.
During the recent Edgerton Homecoming festivities, when vendor shortages left many guests without food options, the team stepped up without hesitation. Within an hour, they prepared a full menu and served meals at Miller Park and later again at the evening concert.
With their ribbon now cut and hearts full, Homeplate Kitchen Ministries is officially “stepping up to the plate” for Edgerton’s catering needs.
