Weekend Shooting In Montpelier Leaves Two Injured

On October 23, 2022 at approximately 1:34 a.m., the Montpelier Police Department responded to 9-1-1 calls regarding shots fired at 205 W. Water St. in Montpelier.

Upon initial investigation, two victims were found. A 48-year-old male from Montpelier was transported via Williams County EMS to the Montpelier ER with an apparent gunshot wound and was subsequently transported to another hospital.

A 30-year-old male form Montpelier was also transported to the Montpelier ER by Williams County EMS for an apparent gunshot wound.

The status of both victims is unknown at this time. The weapon was recovered at the scene.

Damion M. Tingley (24) of 205 W. Water St., Montpelier, Ohio, was arrested and charged with two counts of Felonious Assault and incarcerated at CCNO.


Emily D. Brown (24) of Bryan, Ohio was arrested on warrants for Violation of a Court Order out of Defiance County and Failure to Appear for Hearing on original charge of OVI, out of Bryan PD.

She was transported by the Williams County Sheriff’s Office from the scene.

This case is still under investigation and has been referred to the Williams County Prosecutor’s Office for further charges.


No additional details are available at this time. Montpelier PD believes this is an isolated, familial incident.

The police department asks the public to remain calm and request people to not speculate regarding further details.

Montpelier was assisted by Williams County EMS, Williams County Department of Job and Family Services, Williams County Sheriff’s Office, Williams County Central Communications and the Montpelier ER.
