The annual Archbold Christmas Parade took place at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, November 25th. At least hundreds of people came out to brave the cold below freezing temperatures that took hold that night.

The parade was led by a vehicle carrying the American Flag and flags representing US Military branches. The Archbold High School Marching Band followed and played music with instruments that were covered in Christmas lights.

The parade lasted around a half hour and featured more than 40 displays and vehicles. Two of these displays were even throwing “snow” in the air in the form of foam. Being that this was a Christmas parade, the “snow” helped to add a whole new level to the parade.

As usual, the big man himself finished the parade at the end. Santa Claus came down to Archbold to wish all the good children in Archbold a Merry Christmas. As he passed by, he yelled “Ho Ho Ho” and “Merry Christmas” as he waved to everyone.

The Archbold Christmas parade has been taking place for over twenty years now, with people coming out to show their support. The candy thrown out for the children certainly helps too.

But whether it’s the lights, the candy or Santa himself, our local parades certainly helps to make this time the best there is all year.
