The Edgerton Village Council met for a joint meeting with the St. Joseph Township Trustees and the Maple Grove Cemetery Board on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.
The group first approved the May 7, 2025, meeting minutes without any additions. A report was given on cemetery operations and financials for the last year.
A flagpole replacement will be coming to the Maple Grove Cemetery, with a local Eagle Scout to complete a landscape maintenance project to accompany it.
The officials will be searching for a grant to apply for a side-by-side. This will be for the purpose of maintenance efforts, such as plowing snow and picking up leaves.
Burial grave purchases were reported to be down, as cemetery officials have noted that cremation practices have been more popular.
The current pricing for open graves is $350 for St. Joseph residents and $400 for others. With no further business, the meeting adjourned at 5:25 p.m.
