Pictured are the students from St. Mary School who participated in a Lenten Bible study. These students willingly sacrificed one recess each week during Lent to learn more about the many names for God that are found in the Bible.

Whenever we want to get to know someone better, we start with their name. We discovered that each of God’s names that we studied tell us something about who he is, what he is like, or what he does. Some of the Bible’s names for God are actually descriptive titles, but some of them are actually referred to as given names.

Students also created a cross frame and selected their favorite names to decorate the frame, spent time in prayer, and listened to Christian music. Students were sad when our time came to an end, but we hope that they continue to pick up their Bibles to learn more about God and grow closer to him. Well done students!
