Stephan D. Dreffer of Huron, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly at home on November 18, 1015.
Born April 10, 1943 in Montpelier, OH, he was the son of Morgan D. and Virginia (Shaffer) Dreffer. He graduated from Montpelier High School in 1961 and from The Ohio State University in 1965, where he lettered in Varsity Football for three years and was a member of the Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity. He was united in marriage on March 18, 1967 to Barbara Lee Bazler in Newark, OH.
Stephan worked in sales most of his life, acting as a sales manager for nationwide companies such as Owens-Illinois and Velcro, USA. He served in the Army and the National Guard. His passions included golf and OSU football. He remained active in the OSU Alumni club until his passing.
Stephan is survived by his son, Douglas Dreffer, MD, his wife Lisa, and their children Kyla and Grant of Concord, NH; his brother David Dreffer, OD and his wife Carole of Huron, OH. Extended family include his niece Julie Dreffer (Shamus) Spitzley, and their children Virginia and Quin, and his nephew Tim (Diane) Dreffer, and their children Madeline, Max and Mitchel of Davidson, NC.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Barbara, in 2014.
Memorial services will be held in the Spring.
