OREGON, Ohio — Maumee Bay State Park’s nature center boardwalk, known for birding and peaceful walks, is closed indefinitely.
Strong storms and high winds that moved through the area last week damaged the popular walking space and made it inaccessible to visitors.
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Parks and Watercraft is currently assessing the boardwalk’s damage to determine the best course of action to restore the trail to its original condition.
The park will continue to serve visitors by keeping the nature center, campground, bike paths, golf course, beaches, and other areas of the park open.
