EDON 1/13/2014—The Stryker Panthers had little trouble disposing of the Edon Lady Bombers, as the Panthers would cruise to a convincing 61-25 victory.

It took little time for the Panthers to take control of the contest. The Panther defense held Edon to just seven points in the opening quarter of action, while scoring 20 points on the offensive end, taking a 13 point lead as the first quarter came to a close.

Edon’s defense was able to regain their composure in the second period, only allowing the Stryker offense to score eight points. The Bomber’s were able to capitalize on that, and cut in to the Panther lead, outscoring Stryker 9-8 in the quarter. As the two squads went in to the locker rooms to make halftime adjustments, it was Stryker holding a 28-16 lead over Edon.

Any kind of momentum that Edon had garnered in the second quarter was quickly stunted in the third, as Stryker would find their groove, stifling the Bomber offense, holding them to only four points, meanwhile scoring 18 points of their own, expanding Stryker’s lead to 46-20 at the end of three quarters.

Stryker did not allow the Bombers to mount any sort of comeback in the final period of the night, and would in fact expand their lead in the fourth, and sealing their 61-25 win over Edon.

Varner’s 19 points on the evening lead for Stryker, followed closely by Huston and Sullivan who both scored 15 in the contest. Uribes, Graber, Brier, Haines, and Paxton all contributed two points to the Panther cause as well.

Chrisman scored twelve for the Bombers, followed by Kiess with five, Sonneberger and Matthews with two a piece, and Gutting with one.
