Stryker School Board Accepts Graduating Class Of 2021

April 19, 2021, the third Monday night of the month is a very busy night in Northwest Ohio and Stryker School Board is one of the many government entities who met.

The board began by approving the March 29 minutes following the Pledge of Allegiance.

Also approved were the Financial report for march, a donation of $2000 from the Stryker Schools Foundation for the Stryker Panther Tech Program, the amended certificate of estimated resources and the amendment to the appropriations.

Dean of Students, Beth Morr reported the following:


-Midway with state testing

-Arbor Day Program came in today for 1st and 2nd graders

-April 22 and 23 – Kindergarten screening


-April 26 – Kindergarten spring conferences

-May 2 – Arts Day 2pm

-May 14 – Field Day with the High School Student Counsel

-May 17 through 21 – Right to Read Week


Principal Dave Schultz reported:

-April 21st – 4th nine-week midterms

-April 24th – Jr/Sr Prom @ NWOESC Introductions @6:00

-May 2nd – Festival of the Arts JH/HS 2:00 – 4:30

-May 10th – 14th FFA Week

-May 10th – Academic Awards Night 6:00 on the Stage

-State Test (AIR) update

The Board approved Superintendent Nate Johnson’s personnel recommendations for:

-Employments for the 21-22 school year as presented: Laura Eckhart as School Psychologist with 5 year contract; Dave Schultz as Principal with 5 year contract; Larry Freshour as Teacher with 3 year contract; and Darlene Repp as School Nurse as needed.

-Classified/Certified Volunteers for the 20-21 school year for Food Service, Custodial, Maintenance and transportation: Mandy Oberlin, Jackie Holdsopple, Lisa Frey, Elaine Aguilar

The only other Superintendent recommendation, which was also approved, was the Class of 2021 for graduation on May 23, 2021, contingent on meeting all current and modified state and local requirements. Johnson spoke about the School District Levy Renewal and mentioned that the next Board meeting is set for May 17, 2021.

An Executive Session was held to consider the employment of a public employee or official. With no action taken, the meeting adjourned.
