Stryker Schools Holds Academic Achievement Awards Night; Recognizes Classroom Excellence

STRYKER, May 19,2014- Stryker Schools held their annual Academic Achievement Awards Presentation on May 19 in the high school auditorium, recognizing Jr. High and High School classroom excellence for the 2014 school year.

Students were recognized in a variety of categories, from overall Grade Point Average to recognition for classroom excellence in Math, Science, History and Art. Additionally, graduating seniors received recognition for individual earned scholarships, along with the presentation of Presidential Academic and Achievement Excellence Awards.

The following individual awards and award winners were presented:

Junior High Grade Point Average
In order to be recognized for GPA achievement, a Jr. High Student must maintain a 3.8 average or above for 1 semester. The following students received awards: Haley Doehrmann, Madison Myers, Amanda Oberlin, Gabriele Stuckey, Kimberly Stuckey.

Junior High Classroom Awards
The following students received individual recognition for classroom excellence: Amanda Oberlin (Pre-Algebra), Kimberly Stuckey (Science 8), Logan Boetz (Science 7), Erica Breier (English 7), Logan Boetz (World History 7), Amanda Oberlin (World History 8), Breanna Doriot (Math 7), Haley Doehrmann (Reading 8), Amanda Oberlin (English 8), Haley Doehrmann (Art 8), Reece Hall (Reading 7).

High School Grade Point Average
Freshmen must maintain a GPA of 3.6 for 1 semester in order to receive recognition. The following students received recognition: Colton Benson, Emily Cadwell, Chyanne Cameron, Gabriella Clark, Hayden Clingaman, Bristle Dix, Cameron Fry, Allison Frisbie, Andrew Fritch, Miranda Maynard, Emma Shindledecker, Lynne Stuckey, Brooklyn Whitlock, Tricia Wolfrum, Kaitlyn Wonders, Kaid Woolace, Maygen Wray.

Sophomores must maintain a 3.4 GPA for 3 semesters in order to receive recognition. The following students received recognition: Brittany Breier, Megan Graber, Kaycee John, Melissa Kinkaid, Trevin Rhoades, Audra Rupp, Shi’anna Whitman.
Juniors must maintain a 3.2 GPA for 5 semesters in order to receive recognition. The following students received recognition: Amy Chappuis, Tanner Clingaman, Bayli Louys, Gabrielle Paxton, Mckinze Powers, Zachary Tingley, Shelby Uran, Madeline Uribes, Jkatie Yoder.

Seniors must maintain a 3.0 GPA for 7 semesters in order to receive recognition. The following students received recognition: Dean Beamont, Nicholas Fox, Christine Huston, Megan Neville, Natasha Pegorch, Ross Planson, Kyle Rohrs, bailey Short, Ruthann Stuckey, Connor Sullivan, Conner Varner.

High School Classroom Awards
The following High School Student s received recognition for classroom excellence: Shi’Anna Whitman (Geometry, Economics), Tanner Clingaman (Advanced Math, College & Career Math), Conner Varner (HS Math Award, A & P/Biology II, Physics, HS Science Award, Calculus, Senior Government, AP English, Ceramics, Glass I, Student Mentor), Kaid Woolace (Integrated Science 9), Melissa Kinkaid (Biology I, American History 10, Economics), Natasha Pegorch (Engineering Science), Negan Wray (Integrated Science 9), Megan Neville (Forensics Science, Senior Government, Independent Study), Amy Chappius (Chemistry), Shelby Uran (Anthropology), Miranda Maynard (Algebra I), Megan Graber (Algebra II, Language Arts 10, Spanish II), Gabriella Clark (World History 9), Connor Sullivan (Sociology, Art 1) Christine Huston (Psychology, English 12), Zachary Tingley (Current Events), Madeline Uribes (Geography), Emma Shindledecker (Language Arts 9), Olivia Kroetz (Yearbook), Trevin Rhoades (English 10), Katie Yoder (English 11, Ceramics, Glass I, Spanish II), Emily Musser (2D Art), Jacqueline Wisnewski (Advance 2D Art), Kyle Rohrs (Student Mentor), Holli Coressel (Student Mentor).

Presidential Gold/Presidential Silver Recognition
Presidential Gold: Dean Beamont, Christine Huston, Megan Neville, Kari Oberlin, Ruthann Stuckey, Conner Varner. Presidential Silver: Zachary Birky, Zachary Greutman, Jacob Hancock, Derek Opdycke, Kyle Rohrs, Connor Sullivan.

Scholarship Awardees
The graduating class of 2014 for the Stryker Panthers accumulated $325,100.00 of Scholarship Awards for College Education as they move into the future and begin advanced level study.
