Stryker Wins Five Game Battle With North Central

(September 30th, 2014)-PIONEER: An epic struggle took place in Pioneer.

Relying on stellar performances from Audra Rupp, who had 10 kills, 7 aces, and 5 blocks, and Maddie Uribes, with her 14 assists, 5 kills, 2 blocks, and 1 ace, the Lady Panthers from Stryker were able to pull off a trying five set victory against the hometown Eagles of North Central.

Coming up just short, the Lady Eagles were led by Cady VanDeVoorde and her 16 kills, along with Rachel Oxender, who set up the North Central offense with a stunning 32 assists. Not to mention Makalya Hayes with 12 kills and 7 blocks.

With a 20-25 win in game 1, Stryker took an early lead in the series. The North Central girls refused to go down another, however, as they claimed a hard fought game 2 26-24. Bouncing back, the Lady Panthers continued the seesaw affair with a 25-11 win in game 3. The fourth set was taken by the Eagles, who again one a tight game 25-23. With the finality of a game 5 hanging over both team’s heads, it was Stryker who emerged from the pressure cooker with a 15-3 win to claim the match.
